Robert P. Gallagher, SAMS® AMS®
Principal Marine Surveyor
|Robert Gallagher has more than 40 years experience starting at the bottom: sanding and painting at a boat dealership, moving up to full time work prepping new boats, and owning a service business specializing in inboard and outboard motors.|
Bob began attending factory service schools in 1975 and remains current with industry developments by continuing to attend on an annual basis factory service programs sponsored by MerCruiser, Volvo Penta gas & diesel, OMC, Crusader, and Marine Power, along with many other marine service related seminars covering various aspects of the marine service business including wiring, fiberglass repairs, marine transmissions, and J & T Diesels, to name a few.
Bob has been the service manager for a number of boatyards and marinas in the Northeast and has been self employed since 1984. He began my own repair business in 1984. Along with a crew of five, the business performed major and minor repairs on outboard, inboard-outboard and inboard engines, both gas and diesel. Running gear repair and alignments, hull, wiring and plumbing repairs were also performed.
Bob is one of the few surveyors nationwide who has earned the 'Accredited Marine Surveyor - Engines' designation by The Society Of Accredited Marine Surveyors, Inc.® (SAMS®) and has been certified by ABYC as a marine electrical technician.
Bob's personal boating experience includes the restoration of three wooden power boats and several fiberglass powerboats. For many years he owned a fully restored 23' Lyman Offshore powerboat. Memberships include the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors, Inc., and the American Boat & Yacht Council.
He'd be happy to discuss your particular needs anytime. Please feel free to call, fax, or Email him.
